Comics created during the workshops will be shown on large-format display boards placed in different places around Stalowa Wola.
The official opening of the gallery is scheduled for the 4th of August 2012.
The star of the evening will be L.U.C. with his project entitled Kosmostumostów. Kosmostumostów is one of the first music albums to be created in parallel with a comic book. It is also unique in that it creates a dreamlike microcosm rooted in an actual town; it enters its space through murals and ambient actions. The album tells a fictionalised adventure story of one grey, self-deprecating man’s transformation into a determined award-winning artist known as L.U.C. Included in the story is a fairy tale-like depiction of Wrocław, the city which had a particularly critical and transformative role to play in the artist’s life. The bouncy album conveys a universal philosophical message about the human calling in life; its cast of characters features remarkable local personalities from all walks of life, including Waldemar Kasta, Mesajah, professor Jan Miodek, Trzeci Wymiar, Natalia Grosiak, Leszek Cichoński, Cezary Studniak, and P. Fairweather.
The live performance by L.U.C. will be accompanied by original comic-style visualisations alluding directly to the textual layer and the atmosphere of Kosmostumostów. These were created by a talented graphic artist, Grzegorz Przybyś. The combination of drawings and music will constitute one of the first comic-inspired musical productions to be staged in Poland.
